Reflected

Reflection of my office

I think like many photographers I love “Reflections,” this weeks PhotoFriday challenge theme, and have many images that feature them. However, I wanted to use a picture that I’ve not already used for a challenge and that pushed me towards this picture I took from my office window a few weeks ago: a Union Jack reflected in a window.

Please also vote for my entry in last weeks challenge, “Texture.” I’m entry number 130.

Better out than in

Today marks “Juniors” nine month “birthday,” so, unless you want to be pedantic and count the exact number of weeks, he’s been “out” for as long as he was in utero.

Stephen and Junior straight after birth

His progress has been well documented elsewhere so I won’t go into detail, but it’s fair to say that it’s been an eventful few months.

It’s been a big learning experience for everyone.

Junior and the teething ring

Amongst other things I’ve learned that some postcards are tastier than others; that the MagSafe connector does not live up to its name in some respects; that more things than you think are within the reach of someone less than a metre tall; that parrots can be green and have squeekers; that boys are drawn to buttons and remote controls; and that most food can be eaten lukewarm if the alternative is small hands swiping it and then smiling at you.

Bath time

I’m sure that there will be a lot more to learn as he starts to walk and grows to the point where even the higher shelves are accessible…

Grandeur

Italian white wine bottle

Here is my entry for this weeks PhotoFriday challenge, “Grandeur.” For those that have been following the current series of The Apprentice, you’ll realise that this image represents English Sparkling Wine. In this case, I’ve stretched the concept even further. In the programme, it was a French word used to describe an English sparkling wine. Here, it’s a bottle of Italian, still wine. Never mind.

From my window

Assholes who park across my driveway (part 349)

I know this picture isn’t going to win any prizes, but it’s literally true that it’s a view “From my window,” which is this weeks PhotoFriday theme. Instead it’s one of a series of shots I called “Asshole who park across my driveway” that I created last year when I was working from home a lot. Because we have our own space and don’t often have a car parked in it, people assume that they can just use the space in front. Really annoying those times where we do have a car to park…
