Recent Updates

Well, it’s been over a year since I migrated from WordPress to Hugo but – you know – life. What I’m saying is that I never fully managed to move everything over. The main things missing from the current version are photographs. But there are also a bunch of other details, such as SEO optimisation, and other general i-dotting and t-crossing.

tl;dr, I’ve made a bunch of changes to old posts. I hope I didn’t break anything.

In the last week or so, I have been making a bunch of relatively small changes. Most you probably won’t notice. I updated some tags. I tweaked some formatting, removed some HTML characters where they should not have been. And I removed a whole category of posts.

Yeah, that last one is quite big. For quite some time – from 2006 to 2015 – I regularly took part in PhotoFriday, a weekly photography challenge where you post an image around a theme. I made over 300 entries. However, I moved the site a couple of times and I switched how I stored the images more times than that. I do still have copies of everything but updating all the posts with them would just take too long to be worth it.

There are still a few posts with images remaining. In some cases, I have rewritten the text so that the post makes sense without the picture. Some I’ve not had the chance to update yet, but will. Others, I have left more for sentimental reasons(!). I don’t want to take down some of the travel posts, even though much of their value was in the pictures.
