Thin

Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco

This weeks PhotoFriday theme is Thin. My entry is number 318, and is of one of the cables supporting the Golden Gate Bridge in the San Francisco Bay area. From a distance they look far too thin to support such a large structure.

  1. Kind of depends on the definition of “thin” you use!

I ran with “widely separated,” which the cables on the Golden Gate Bridge are.

Another definition is “without solidity or substance” which I think also applies as it’s a relative term. Compared with a spiders web or a piece of string the cables are very substantial; contrasted with the size of the bridge, the cables are tiny.
